BURY Hockey Club's men's first team secured a huge victory over South Lakes this week, winning 9-1.

Jack Marshall-Grint helped himself to four goals in a man-of-the-match performance, with captain James Larmett and Adam Friend getting a brace each and Ian Hillary rounding off the scoring with the last touch of the game.

The men's second team also recorded a good win, beating COM 4-1.

Man-of-the-match Danny Nicholls opened the scoring with Jon Kitchen adding a second early in the second half.

COM pulled one back but further goals from Samit Ghosh and a first for Jay Singh saw Bury take all three points.

The ladies' first team suffered a disappointing 5-2 loss against University of Manchester.

After last week’s resounding victory, goals from Lorna Wroe and Sophie Foreman were not enough against a well-drilled University side.

The ladies' seconds suffered a similar fate against the University’s second team.

A goal from Joy Kenedey, after an assist from Sophie Foreman, was a consolation in a 3-1 defeat.

Sunday saw the third team claim bragging rights in a derby against Horwich.

A 2-0 win, with goals from Lorna Wroe and Erin Kenyon, brought the points home for Bury.
