RADCLFFE AC’s Neal Emmerson continued his great form to finish eighth in the Stockport 10 Mile Race.

He was the first of 12 runners home for the club on Sunday, clocking 56mins 50secs.

He was followed by Chris Whittaker who finished 34th in 1:1:41 with Ian Warrington two places behind in 1:1:47.

Among the women, Kate Percival was 19th lady and 11th senior in 1:11:31. Jenny Yates was second Vet-50 in 1:13:34 and Sheila Jones claimed fourth Vet-60 in 1:23:11.

Also running were Lee Cooper 1:14:13; Dave Rushton 1:15:29; Steve Hamer 10th Vet-60 1:17:04; Caroline Mullineaux 1hr 23mins 59secs – taking four minutes off her personal best; Chris Fletcher 1:27:55; and Peter Warr 1:40:08.

Three Radcliffe members got into the festive spirit at the tough and hilly Longridge Xmas Pudding seven-mile run in Preston. Lisa Donnelly ran 1:20:20, Lucy Dewhurst 1:23:52 and Christine Berry 1:28:28.

In the popular parkruns, Vince Ashton notched up his 62nd location at Wendover Woods in the Chiltern Hills, reputedly one of the toughest in the South.

He clocked 30:53 despite falling on the muddy course.

Closer to home, Sheila Jones was second lady in 22:36 at the Heaton parkrun Santa Dash. Nick Barnes ran 24:47; junior Olivia Whittaker notched up her 11th consecutive PB in 27:33; Peter Hunter clocked 29:05; Bev Quinton 34:07; Iain Harris 34:08; junior Megan Peterkin 39:07, and Sharon Peterkin 39:12.

Paul Swyers ran 22:9 to finish 24th at Bolton parkrun.
