ELTON Vale Tennis Club hold their annual open day on Saturday, April 27 ahead of the new season.

Anyone interested in taking up the sport is welcome to attend, with juniors invited from 1pm and anyone else from 2pm.

The club has three painted tarmac courts and is part of Elton Vale Sports Club with all its facilities on the doorstep.

Last season all the Elton Vale tennis teams were involved in either a promotion battle – with the men's second team promoted to Division Four of the Bolton League – or a relegation battle with the men's first team relegated to Division Three and the mixed team back to Division Four.

The men's firsts are aiming to bounce back into Division Two led by long-term captain, Omer Butt.

Meanwhile, the men's seconds grabbed promotion with the final set of the final match last year so know they are in for a tough season this time around and they are looking for new members to reinforce their squad.

The Tuesday night mixed team are back in Division Four after one season in Division Three and with a good squad of players, they are aiming for promotion once again.

Coaching sessions for juniors aged from six to 18 years old will be held once again on Fridays, between 5.30pm and 7pm, starting on May 3.
