THE Bolton and District Table Tennis League’s top Premier Division teams both scored 25 points in the second week of the campaign.

Ramsbottom Town A beat struggling Hilton B 25-5 with nines from Andrew Jackson and Khamal Hussain, while Flixton ppong A beat their own B team 25-11 with a nine from Pawel Orzechowski.

Elsewhere, Little Lever Cricket Club A beat Ramsbottom Town B 24-9 assisted by nines from Ron Durose and Graham Jeffries.

Burning Desire overcame Ladybridge A 23-15 and Coburg A beat Hilton A despite a resisting nine from Matthew Westworth.

In Division One, Little Lever B gave Hilton E a lesson by a full 27-4 points win.

Ramsbottom Town C overcame Coburg B 24-10, helped by a nine from Martin Holt, while Polonia Club beat Meadow Ben A 25-12 with nine points coming from Marian Bleho.

Hilton C beat North West Lions 23-16, while a closer result saw Heaton Cricket Club A just beating Farnworth Social Circle A 18-9, helped by a nine from David Hall.

In Division Two, Hilton Hawks took advantage of a key opposing player’s absence by beating Lostock Tennis Club 21-12. John Nuttall put up the resistance with a nine.

Ladybridge B stifled Brass Zone 22-6, with nines coming from John Birchall and John Cole, while Ramsbottom Town D had their first win – 22-14 against Hilton F – with nines from Timothy Fields and Ian Lloyd.

Newly-promoted Farnworth Social Circle C had their second win against Meadow Ben B with Christopher Lord on nine for Farnworth.

Meanwhile, Hilton Top Spinners had a 20-11 win against Heaton Cricket Club B despite David Jones putting up a nine-points resistance.

In Division Three, Meadow Ben C, who just lost out on promotion last year, beat their own D team 21-11 with nines from Ian Wheeldon and Debbie Wilson.

Hilton G beat Ladybridge C 24-6 with nines from Ian Raby and Malcolm Wilcock.

If it is the taking part that matters, and not the win, then that is the only consolation for three of the teams.

Juniors Hilton I lost out to Albany 26-4, with nines from Les Welch and David Barrow, while Meadow Hill were pasted by Farnworth Social Circle D 27-2. as were Hilton H who lost to Polonia Club B by the same score.
