ENGLAND bowler Kate Cross was taken to hospital after injuring herself in the warm-up ahead of her side’s 46-run win against West Indies.
The Heywood CC seamer was stretchered off the field just as the toss was about to take place at the Sydney Showground Stadium on Sunday. She will undergo further scans on Monday morning.
“She landed on the sponge and heard a huge crack,” England spinner Alex Hartley said, while commentating on Test Match Special.
“She's sent me a photo of her, still on gas and air at the hospital but she's got her thumbs up.”
Enjoy the gas and air while you can mate... #drugstesting

In all seriousness this was horrendous watching it all unfold.
So pleased/relieved when I got the thumbs up!
Wishing my bestie a speedy recovery, I’ll be round later with a beer and some chocolate 🍫 🍺 https://t.co/tQzFFhRLWR
Cross returned to the ground in time to join her teammates in the dressing room - albeit on crutches - after their victory, which sees them through to the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup.
Cross is the only member of the 15-strong squad yet to either bat or bowl since England touched down in Australia.
Her last international action came in the final T20I against Pakistan in December.
