The slow return to normal competition for Bury AC athletes continued over the weekend.

The club had two young athletes competing at the Trafford AC open meeting at the Longford Park stadium in Stretford on Saturday.

Evie Elliot made it a double victory in her two races. The under 13 displayed great speed in winning her 75m race in a new personal best of 11.28secs before setting another lifetime best in the 150m with 22.48.

David Vaughan made it his third weekend in a row competing at the Stretford track.

He was rewarded with a personal best in the 100m of 12.36.

Personal trainer Luke Harreld travelled even further afield to secure competition.

He took part in Blackpool’s Run the Lights 10k which broadly follows the promenade and traces the route of the illuminations. Luke posted a very nippy time of 34.43.28, a season’s best performance. The time was good enough to give him seventh place overall.

Bury AC have also got their hands on their trophies from the South East Lancs Cross Country League. The under 15 girls won the team prize while Lucy Dent was awarded the runners-up trophy for the under 11 girls' race series.
