A quartet of Radcliffe Athletic Club runners notched up four races in four days when they completed the Tour Of Tameside.

Gary Adkins, Alex Pullan, Julie Robertson and Karen Doherty ran a trail 10k, a six-mile fell race, a half marathon and the Dr Ron Hill Hyde seven-mile road race.

Gary was a great 10th overall after clocking 41:05, 43:55, 1:25:29 and 43:14 respectively.

Pullan (18) was the youngest tour finisher and was 65th overall, despite struggling with stomach problems and sickness during the half marathon. He ran 45:39, 49:36; 1:49:19 and 46:30.

Robertson knocked a staggering 21 minutes off her time from the last tour, held two years ago, to clinch third FV50. She was 13th woman after finishing the four races in 49:01, 52:44, 1:45:04 and 52:55.

Doherty ran 1:06:00, 1:12:51, 2:26:18 PB and 1:15:14.

Four Radcliffe runners were also in action at the Heaton Park Half Marathon. Neil Greenhalgh knocked 12 minutes off his PB to finish 18th overall in 1:39:08, a place ahead of Chris Paxton who was second V40 in 1:39:11. There was a PB for Ian Swan in 1:49:42 while Peter Hunter ran 2:02:59.

At York 10k, Sheila Jones was fourth FV65 in 49:11 while Bev Quinton and Debi Warrington both ran 1:10:13.

Rob Lister was second V55 in 1:10:20 at the Lancaster Riverside 10-mile, his first race in 16 months.

In the popular 5k parkruns, at Bolton Mark Garner ran 23:34, Steve Hamer 25:15, Steven Lomax 27:12, Kath Davies 28:56, Mark Wolfenden 30:29, Elaine Bailey 31:21 and Dave Rushton 34:22.

At Heaton Park, Sheila Jones clocked 24:23 followed by Helen Sandiford in 34:24, while further afield Jackie Faith ran 32:01 at Penrith, Jen Entwistle 30:14 at Preston and Craig Ward 30:02 at Trelissick in Cornwall.
