RADCLIFFE AC runners will be among the award winners at the prize presentation for this season’s South East Lancs Cross Country League.

Veteran 50 Adrian Harris is the third in his age category after four tough races and both the men’s and women’s teams have been placed third.

Harris, who has performed well this season on the road as well as cross country, is also a high fifth place overall in the series and among the women Radcliffe’s Donna Cartwright is also fifth.

The final race in the series was on Saturday at a muddy Boggart Hole Clough, Blackley when Radcliffe’s Stuart Sharp took a fine fifth place out of 82 runners.

Sharp has not run the number of races he needed to qualify in the overall prizes. Harris was 17th and was followed by good performances from Rob Shiels, Gary Wilson (V40), Vince Ashton, George Critchley (V50) and Mark Murphy. They were third team on the day. Among the 44 women, Rachael Stoney was 12th followed by Kath Davies (V45) and Eileen Royle (V60). They were fifth team on the day.

The league presentation will be on March 25, at Horwich. Radcliffe are planning their own presentation evening on April 9 at Radcliffe Cricket Club, followed by a buffet and disco.
