A TEAM of five athletes from Bury Athletic Club competed in the Life Leisure Young Athletes Quadrathon at Stockport.

Each athlete competed in the 100m, shot put, 800m and long jump, with the points being amassed towards an overall score.

Daisy Worthington took an excellent second place in the under-15 girls' competition with a score of 301 points.

Her score was boosted by a new personal best of 13.09secs in the 100m.

Ella Hall was 13th in the same age group with 199 points, which included a season’s best time of 2:53.88 in the 800m.

In the u13s girls' competition, Abigail Howard was seventh with 195 points, setting personal bests in the 100m (14.39), the 800m (2:46.86) and the shot (6.19m) in the process.

Erin Garroch finished joint 17th on 145 points following new PBs in the 800m (2:52.79), long jump (3.28m) and shot put (5.45m).

Jay Cook ran his quickest ever 100m (15.18) in the u13s boys' competition, taking fifth place with 206 points.

A small group of athletes travelled to Blackpool to compete in the Youth Development League Upper meeting.

The results are still awaiting ratification, but it has been confirmed Bury will remain in the Third Division.

This weekend will see Bury athletes competing at their home Market Street track in the Cheshire League.
