RADCLIFFE Athletic Club's Neal Emmerson was 12th out of 995 runners at the Stockport 10k on Sunday.

He finished in a personal best time of 57mins 42secs, beating his previous mark by more than two-and-a half minutes on a testing course with two challenging climbs at five and eight miles.

There was a good turnout from the club with 22 runners starting at the Woodbank Stadium and many had PBs to celebrate afterwards, while they combined well, with the women's team finishing fifth and the men's eighth.

Several also took to the start line having already run the day before, either in the Red Rose Cross Country League in Rossendale or at a parkrun event.

Jenny Yates finished the Stockport 10k in 1:19:22 to claim third place in the V50 race and also helped the Radcliffe women's veteran team finish second in the Red Rose cross country.

Meanwhile, Ian Warrington was 52nd in Stockport, clocking 1:02:51 to set his fourth consecutive PB at the event.

A total of 14 Radcliffe runners took part in the Red Rose Cross Country League at Marl Pits in Rossendale on Saturday.

Donna Cartwright was 11th woman and first V40 out of 112 women runners, while Fiona Lynch (V40) was 22nd and Yates 29th as the three combined to finish second in the women's veterans team event.
