OLD Bolts put themselves back in the Lancashire Amateur League Premier Division title race, but Bury remain on top spot despite this defeat.

The game was a scrappy affair with Old Bolts effective in their style of play and made it difficult for Bury to play their usual passing game.

Old Bolts took the lead through a scrappy and controversial goal, which appeared to be controlled by the strion its way into the net.

Bury rallied, and should have equalised when Derrick Aljoe rounded the keeper and squared to Liam Donnelly, who was denied by a defender.

Bury travel to Old Blackburnians on Saturday, kick off 2.30pm.
