RADCLIFFE FC believe they are the perfect club for young players to showcase their talents.

The Neuven Stadium men are looking to go up the divisions in the next few years and part of the plan is to become a breeding ground for budding stars.

Radcliffe are currently second bottom of EvoStik League North but they have big ambitions under manager Jon Macken who took over in September and began to shape the side his way with a flurry of transfer activity in the last few weeks.

And chairman Paul Hilton says if the club can continue to help young players climb the football ladder with them it would be a double bonus.

"We've got good facilities at the club and at our training base in Manchester," he said.

"We've got plenty to offer players who are looking for a club, both in terms of our facilities and in helping them to develop as players.

"When players are looking to come to us they see what we can offer and it appeals to them.

"We've got a very decent history of getting lads back into league football.

"Obviously there was Craig Dawson who went on to play in the Premier League with West Brom, but even in my short time here in the last 18 months we've helped one or two players get into league football.

"That's something we feel is in our favour here at Radcliffe and if it helps players get into the league it means we are doing well too, so it benefits both of us."

Radcliffe's first priority, though, is making sure they avoid relegation this season.

Last weekend's home game against bottom club Goole was postponed due to bad weather and on Saturday they travel to seventh-bottom Brighouse Town.
