AFTER his side dropped two points at Mossley, Jon Macken is frustrated Radcliffe’s chances of success are being hampered by match officials.

Recent weeks have seen the manager grow increasingly frustrated by what he sees as costly mistakes by the men in charge, and their run of just one win in 10 league and cup games leaves them sitting seventh in Evo-Stik West.

And, ahead of a lay-off for his squad, Macken says those watching can clearly see how those decisions are impacting Boro’s chances of success, not least as Mossley’s equaliser – to cancel out Rick Smith’s opener on 11 minutes – was scored by centre-back Adam Jones, who Macken feels should not have been on the field.

“People can make their own minds up, the reaction of everybody says it all,” he told Radcliffe TV after their 1-1 draw. “It’s happening week in, week out now and it’s becoming frustrating.

“I think we played well, there were a few lads coming back and Mike Fowler came on.

“I thought we played some really great football and created some great chances, and once again you’d like to score one or two of those.

“The lads know we need to be putting away these chances, they understand that but there are a number of bad decisions and at the minute it seems every game we’re having decisions go against us that are costing us either a point or all three points.

“The lads played well, we deserved the three points.

“I’m saying that because we believe Adam Jones should have been sent off and he scored the goal. But they had a couple of chances and pushed us, they were okay and will be happy with a point but we’re disappointed because of the circumstances that arose.”
