AS the 2018/19 season drew to a close, a certain symmetry fell nicely into place for Ramsbottom United’s final winner of the campaign’s player-of-the-month award.

April’s top player prize, as voted for by the supporters, went to the recipient of the first award of the season back in August, Jamie Rother.

The midfielder, now in his fifth season with the club, recently completed 100 games in a Rams shirt, and after injury-hit early seasons, has proved to be a consistent, hard-working player throughout this campaign, and his all-action displays have made him a firm favourite with the Rammy faithful.

He received his award from Katie Worsick, along with a case of beer from league sponsors Bowland Brewery, at the end-of-season presentation held in the adjacent cricket club.

At the awards night Nic Evangelinos was presented with his players’ player-of-the-season trophy by Chris Willcock, as well as collecting from Lee Donafee the Cup Goals award, in recognition of his 10 goals for the club in the FA Trophy, including two hat-tricks.

The supporters’ player-of-the-season prize was presented by Dawn Charleson to Tom Kennedy, who was also named in the Evo-Stik West team of the year.

The club’s dedicated photographer, Frank Crook, received the Clubman-of-the-Year award from Rammy chairman Harry Williams.
