Kyren Wilson is used to a battle on the baize and the Warrior is expecting nothing less than a tough tussle in his World Championship opener.
Wilson faces off with Scotland’s Scott Donaldson in his first-round clash at the Crucible, going into the clash as one of the favourites for a long run in the tournament.
But he’ll first have to overcome a man who has beaten three players just to reach the main stage, praising Donaldson’s resilient qualities as they prepare to face off.
“Qualifying is a difficult process to get through – he’s certainly earned his place at the Crucible,” he said.
“Scott and I are a similar sort of age, I know his game quite well and he’s been in some very good recent form. It’s going to be a very tough first-round match.

“I feel like I always get geared up for this one, you get all the little things right for coming to the World Championships.
“It’s been very important for me to learn off my mistakes from previous years, and I feel like I’ve put them in place for this year to give myself the best possible opportunity.”
