SO, once again we have to beg Bury council not to sell off our heritage.

They seem to show only contempt for the people they represent. They were not satisfied with ripping the lungs out of Radcliffe by destroying all the trees around our civic hall, destroying the hall, our baths and generally running down our town, they now are trying to sell off our green belt.

They overcharge for renting market stalls and look what that has done to our town's market. It makes you think that is a ploy to get rid of our market so they can then sell the land because it really looks like they are determined to sell everything and close everything in Radcliffe.

As when they were in government, they just spend, spend, spend, without any thought. If they are so short of money then why are they intending to put in more road calming measures that are proved not to work. Just to add more insult to our misery, they are thinking of putting up our council tax. It cannot just be me who sees the madness in this.

They state that brown sites will be used first for some of the required new houses. Well why not make really good use of the Pilsworth site and fill that with lots of new houses? That would save a large amount of green belt. We have more than sufficient retail sites but once our green belt is used up then its gone forever, and for what? Just so the council can get in more council tax from those houses to spend on more money wasting systems like speed bumps that do not work, and no one wants or repairing the same pot holes again instead of doing it correct the first time. It's time this council started to show some it cares about the people it represents.

Just a quick reminder Bury council. We are all still waiting for the council to publish how many lives have been saved and crashes prevented by all the previous road calming measures.
