I am still trying to decide whether or not Robert Graham's letter on March 16 was a wind-up.
In case it wasn't, here are a few facts, as opposed to ill-informed opinions that Robert and any readers of his letter may wish to bear in mind.
1) Trident: 472 v 117 MPs voted for it. 80 per cent, including more than half of all Labour MPs. So, if only Labour MPs had voted it would have been passed.
2) Brexit: I didn't vote in favour of it, but 51.9 per cent of the voting public did. The Conservative government, like any government, are simply carrying out the wishes of the majority in a democratic referendum.
3) The walk-in centre: Firstly the closure is now not happening and secondly the decision was made by Bury CCG (Clinical Commissioning Group), not the Tories. The CCG made the decision initially in a move to re-allocate resources.
I was expecting Robert to blame the Conservatives for the death of Han Solo (sorry if that's a plot-spoiler), but he stopped short of that.
So, I don't think it was a wind-up.
Robert just doesn't like the Conservatives. Fine, however, please don't try and blame them for the above!
