GREAT to see the stretch of the former Holcombe Brook rail route between Brandlesholme Road and Woolfold now regularly being used by dog walkers, cyclists and joggers after being re-connected with the route further north courtesy of the footbridge in place of the long-demolished Woolfold viaduct.
One less welcome visitor are the horses which also use the route, not the horses themselves but the "deposits" they leave.
The footbridge has signs at both ends "no horses", yet there is evidence of horse manure on the bridge itself and not content with fouling the former rail route they also do so along Bankhouse Road.
Why is it when a dog does such a thing the owner is required to clean up the mess, but not so for a horse?
