How can supposed “professionals” act in such a reckless way

Clearly there was an inappropriate culture at the top if so many rules were being flouted and it seems now that this was true for some of the politicians too, if the recent news of suspensions is an indication of anything.

At the very least it is good that these things were brought to light and dealt with independently, rather than sorted in some private backroom inquiry. It was especially encouraging that, despite being threatened with bad press, Councillor Shori was willing to call for these investigations and he was even commended by a Conservative councillor for doing so. Hopefully that is a positive sign for the future running of the Council.
