I THINK most of your readers will know that public transport is curtailed over the Christmas/New Year period, but I think some people get caught out each year, waiting for buses, etc, which are not running.
Transport for Greater Manchester's phone and online inquiries, as well as its leaflets, available at travel centres, give full details.
Apart from one service to the Airport, no buses run in Greater Manchester on Christmas Day, and, I understand, few if any on the north side on New Year's Day.
Boxing Day sees a minority of services running, with late starts and early finishes.
Also, do not get caught out by early finishing times on Christmas and New
Year's Eve.
Metrolink runs every day except Christmas Day, but watch out for late start/early finish on Boxing Day.
No trains on Christmas Day or Boxing Day.
