THE father and brother of a Bury youngster with an incurable condition went on the run to help raise about £3,000.
The duo completed the BUPA Greater Manchester 10K for the charity, Ehlers-Danlos Support UK.
Four-year-old Annabelle Griffin, of Wilby Close, Brandlesholme, suffers from life-threatening Vascular Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (VEDS) which means just a slight knock could mean a hospital visit. Annabelle’s father, Jared, and 16-year-old brother Ryan, completed the run as part of a 15-strong team made up Jared’s colleagues from RRG Toyota group and friends.
Mr Griffin, aged 41, said: “Doing the run was great but there were moments I felt the emotions kicking in.
“I was running for the benefit of Annabelle and EDS UK to save and help others but also was running with people who were there for a lost loved one.
“The atmosphere in Manchester was amazing. Our family is so proud of the RRG Toyota race team for choosing Annabelle’s Challenge and EDS UK as their charity to run for this year to help raise awareness and funds.”
