SEVEN people, including two from the Bury area, have re-appeared in court, accused of being involved in a £3.8 million mephadrone factory.

The men and women face a range of charges relating to the alleged sale of 313kgs of the drug through a website following a raid an industrial unit in Farnworth, Bolton.

The “business” and a number of addresses in Greater Manchester were raided by police following an investigation into mephadrone.

The drug became illegal in 2010 and the investigation is believed to be the largest operation relating to the drug.

It is also known as meow meow and bubble.

The defendants were due to enter pleas to the charges at Bolton Crown Court on Monday, but the case was adjourned until Monday, November 4.

A trial date has been scheduled for March 10 next year and is expected to last about six weeks.

Paula White, aged 44, of Stafford Road, Monton, and Netta Hymanson, aged 62, of Circular Road, Prestwich, are both accused of conspiracy to supply class A, B and C drugs and two counts of money laundering.

Five other people have also appeared in court charged with conspiracy to supply class A, B and C drugs.

They are: Aaron White, aged 20, of Croft Street, Salford; Christian White, aged 37, of Croft Street, Salford; Michaela Doyle, aged 42, of Tenbury Close, Salford; Sheena Jessop, aged 45, of Barwood Lea Mill, Grants Lane, Ramsbottom; and Rudi Chiu, aged 24, of Masson Place, Hornbeam Way, Manchester.
