A high street cosmetics store has opened in Bury after leaving Bolton.

The branch of Lush had been based at the Market Place shopping centre in Bolton since 2008, but has now set up shop at The Rock — citing a “fresh market” and “busier footfall” as reasons for the move.

All staff members from the Bolton store have made the move to Bury and there will also be a recruitment evening for temporary Christmas staff.

The new store was lauched on August 23 with a celebratory opening party where customers were able to receive complimentary skin and hair consultations and enjoy live entertainment.

Nick Rowlands, estates manager at Lush, said: “We decided to move to Bury as we saw an opportunity with a great shop location in a fresh market with a busier footfall.

“We feel we can expand the Lush brand further into a new area and the great retail destination that Bury provides — it is still close enough for our Bolton customers to travel to, but it also gives us the chance to attract new customers where we haven't before.”
