A LIBRARIAN who started a new chapter in her life by shedding more than three stones is hoping to inspire others to achieve their goals.

Suzi Heslan, of Deardens Street, dropped from 14st 4lb to 10st 11lb at the Slimming World group in Elton, and found a new man.

Now, after her own success, the 29-year-old is opening a new Slimming World club in Brandlesholme on Tuesday.

She had left a seven-year relationship before she joined the Elton group in July, 2012, and has since found love again.

Miss Heslan said: “People are saying that I look younger and I feel a lot better, I have got my life back and if I can help people to achieve the same thing then that is absolutely fantastic.”

After breaking up with her partner, she says her weight became a problem, and that seeing herself in the mirror made her decide to change.

She said: “Friends would often take me out to try and bring back the old Suzi, but when she sat down to look back at the photos of this day out I was horrified to see the lady in picture.

“In shock of my image, it was enough to decided that enough is enough and I had to take control and lose the weight.”

In addition she had been given health warnings about diabetes, cholesterol and blood pressure which further influenced her transformation.

Miss Heslan added: “I realised that I had to do something about my weight, having tried at home to lose some of the weight I still felt very isolated. I wanted to get my confidence back and I wanted to start to look for love.”

Miss Heslan will hold her first Slimming World session at Brandlesholme Cricket Club at 7.30pm.
