BURRSWOOD House Nursing and Residential Home in Bury has been commended for the quality of its care by the Care Quality Commission.

Inspectors found that the home, in Newton Street, complied with necessary standards. They also reported that the home employs “qualified, skilled and experienced staff” to meet the needs of the home’s residents, that people receive care in a way that meets their requirements and preferences and that they are cared for in a clean, hygienic environment.

The inspectors said: “The people we spoke with told us they were happy with the care they received and that they were looked after well. They told us the staff are friendly and helpful.

“We observed care being delivered in a way that supported people's care needs, welfare and safety. We also found the environment and equipment in the home to be clean, safe and well maintained.”

Manager, Andrea Valentine, said: “I’m delighted with the result of the CQC report and the positive feedback that it included. I’m looking forward to working with the staff to further develop our services.

“The report is testament to the staff at Burrswood House who work extremely hard to ensure we exceed all standards set by the CQC and make this a homely, safe and comfortable environment for our residents to live in.”
