CHILDREN at Peel Brow Primary School got a taste of the ‘big screen’ when they dressed up as their favourite film characters.

Staff held a ‘film week’ from October 21-25 as part of the National Youth Film Festival. Year one and two pupils at the school in Fir Street, Ramsbottom, took part in various activities throughout the week.

It included free tickets to see Monsters University at Bolton Cineworld, and an after-school family film night. The children also wrote about their favourite character and based their favourite films around English, Maths and ICT.

Year two teacher Casey Lynchey said: “It was a fantastic week. It was a really enriching experience for both staff and pupils.

“The children showed how capable they all are. It’s something we will definitely take part in every year now, and hopefully we can involve the whole school.”
