THE newly-crowned Miss Bury helped raise money for Cancer Research UK by taking part in the UK’s biggest amateur martial arts show.

Chelsea Edgar, aged 18, from Radcliffe, got involved in Full Contact Contender (FCC) to raise money for the charity.

The teenager, whose family live in Limefield Road, has been involved with FCC for almost a year, and the event took place at Bolton’s Reebok Stadium.

Chelsea, who is studying fine art at Leeds College of Art, said: “It was a blessing to raise the money.

“Community, sports and dedication are very important to me, so I can’t express enough how much of an amazing experience this is.”

Miss Edgar added that she was still waiting to get an exact figure of how much was raised on the day.
