Two bikes were stolen after thieves broke into a family's shed.

The break-in happened sometime between 6pm on Saturday, November 9, and 9am on Sunday, November 10, at the house in Neston Road, Walshaw.

It is believed the thieves are likely to have get to the shed in the back garden through the front driveway, climbing over a fence at the side of the house.

Two other houses in the same street also had their sheds broken into, although nothing was stolen.

PC Rabbecca Gore said: "There is a chance that this break-in was part of a series carried out by the offenders, likely to be overnight on Saturday into Sunday.

"I am appealing to any witnesses who may have seen anything suspicious to call us.

"We have also released pictures of the bikes so that anyone who thinks they may have come across them, or even been offered them, gets in touch."

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 0161 8568181 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
