A GROUP which provides opportunities for women to socialise in Tottington is searching for new members.
Tottington and District Townswomen Guild provides social opportunities, and meets on the second Tuesday of every month at Tottington Methodist Church.
The group, which recently celebrated its 26th birthday, is seeking to attract younger members to help secure its future.
When Barbara Robinson moved to Tottington the guild helped her to make friends and she is keen for it to thrive into the future years.
She said: “I moved from Liverpool to Tottington five years ago and I didn’t know anybody except my son.
“I thought as a way to get to know people and make friends I would join the guild.
“It has been brilliant. We go on social outings to the theatre, we go out for lunch and evening meals and have guest speakers at our meetings and other activities, as well as plenty of tea and cakes.
“It is an ageing group, and it would be a shame if over the next 10 years we don’t recruit people, because the organisation will just fade away.”
The next meeting will take place on Tuesday at 7.30pm.
