Hollins woman finds wedding ring that was lost for six years

A HOLLINS woman is celebrating after being reunited with her wedding ring she lost six years ago.

Louise Daveron had long since given up any hope of finding the gold band which had fallen from her finger while out walking near her home with her dog.

But the ring had been lost much nearer to home after it was discovered in the driveway of her house in Woburn Drive which she shares with her husband Paul.

Louise believes the ring was unearthed when she recently planted a tree in the front garden.

After a good clean, the sparkling piece of jewellery, which has an elaborate woven design, is back on her hand once again.

Louise recalled: “Six years ago I’d been in Hampson Mill Lane and that is where I thought it had dropped off my finger.

"Afterwards, I kept looking around second hand shops as I was convinced that someone had found the ring and then sold it.

“I’ve been married for 17 years and I was very upset that I’d lost it.”

But Louise was stunned when she saw the long-lost wedding ring lying in her driveway, after digging up earth to plant a tree.

“I am absolutely over the moon at finding it, said the 51-year-old. “I really thought I would never see it again.”

Now a replacement wedding ring which she has worn for the past few years will be sold in aid of charity which provides loans online for people in Ecuador, Malawi, and Cambodia.
