A BURY student joined experts in the laboratory during a spell of work experience at a Walmersley firm.
Victoria Morris spent a week on placement at Microbiological Solutions Ltd in Gollinrod, a firm which tests of cosmetics, toiletries, personal care and household products.
The 17-year-old, who is studying for an extended diploma in science at Bury College, was tasked with maintaining and neutralising equipment in the laboratory, and produced detailed reports of her findings.
The firm was so impressed by Victoria's work, that it has offered her part-time work as a laboratory assistant, where she is making environmental checks, creating moulds and checking the amount of yeast in products.
Victoria, from Bolton, hopes to study forensic biology at Manchester Metropolitan University.
She added: "I really enjoyed my time at the laboratory. My confidence of working on my own has massively improved and I feel I am now a better decision-maker."
