YOUNGSTERS at Castlebrook High in Unsworth are hoping to become an internet hit after entering a competition to raise awareness of living with diabetes in school.

Remi Skuce, Nathaniel Mason, Ellie Roberts, all aged 12, Ellie Turner, aged 13, and Abby Carroll, aged 14, all suffer from type 1 diabetes and have shared their stories for the Diabetes in School Short Film Competition, run by charity Diabetes UK.

Jo Greenwood, the school's educational psychologist in training, said: "As well as being a fun and engaging project for students to develop their film skills, it was also a really great way to bring students and teachers together to help promote a vital health message in school.

"This is important because some children and young people with Type 1 diabetes can struggle to get the support and care they need in school to manage their condition effectively, which can prevent them from fully participating in their education and reaching their full academic potential."
