AN 18-year-old was airlifted to hospital after falling 35 feet down a disused mineshaft.
The teenager was rescued in Shawforth on Saturday by Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team and North West Air Ambulance.

Team members and a paramedic helped with immobilisation and transferring the patient to the air ambulance.
A Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team spokesman said: “The team were called to assist North West Air Ambulance on Saturday with an 18-year-old male that had fallen approximately 35 feet into a disused mineshaft in Shawforth.
“The team assisted the heli-med paramedic with immobilisation and transfer of the patient to the Air Ambulance.
“We wish the patient a speedy recovery.”
