AN East Lancashire beauty is in the running for four pageant titles at a national competition.

Rossendale-based Brittany Hargreaves, 22, is set to compete in the UK Power Pageant next month.

The former Burnley College sports science student, who has previously won the Miss Teen Great Britain title, will appear as ‘Miss Lancashire International’.

Brittany, from Whitewell Bottom, said: “I’m so excited for the final and to meet all of the girls competing.

“I have met so many new friends through pageants that I still keep in touch with.

“When I won Miss Teen Great Britain in 2013, it was an amazing experience.

“It’s not just all about image, it’s about having a voice, speaking up for what you believe in and wanting to help make a difference.”

Brittany, who works full-time at Endsleigh Insurance in Burnley, has competed in pageants since she was 17.

She is in the running for several top awards at the Power Pageant, which will be held at Park Hall Hotel, Chorley, in July.

It will be the country’s first quadruple crown pageant, giving all finalists four chances to win the UK title.

During the competition, participants will be interviewed by six judges, as well as take part in a swimwear round and an evening wear round.

Brittany is in line to win the titles of Miss Grand England, Miss International, Miss Intercontinental England and World Supermodel UK.

Brittany, who has previously won the titles of Miss Teen Galaxy England, is also appealing for votes for the Miss Popularity award on social media.More than 600 Facebook users have liked or shared a photo of the 22-year-old ahead of the pageant.

The former Alder Grange High School pupil said: “I applied for the pageant back in February and the directors then selected a number of girls to be in the final.

“In the run up to the final you get given a title for appearances, I am Miss Lancashire International.”

Winners of the competition will be awarded an all-expenses-paid trip to Las Vegas to compete in the international pageant. Brittany will be sponsored by two local firms, Burnley-based Simon Townley Hair and Amanda Pierce Laser in Rawtenstall.
