THE public are being given an insight into the lives of firefighters in a new video.

The three-minute film features a tribute to tragic firefighter Stephen Hunt, from Radcliffe.

Father-of-two MR Hunt, aged 38, was found collapsed inside Paul's Hair World in Manchester's Northern Quarter while attempting to put out a fire in 2013.

A street was recently named in his memory in Manchester.

The video also features crews training, and some of the incidents they dealt with over the past 12 months, as well as the community work firefighters get involved in while not saving lives.

Dog handler Mick Dewar, who lives in Bolton, also makes an appearance.

And new recruits to the service, some of whom are based in Bolton, are also introduced.

This year, the service welcomes Graham Holmes, aged 34, and Jake McCarthy, aged 27, who will be based at Farnworth, and Oliver Doyle, aged 24, who will be based in Bolton.

Greater Manchester Fire Service tweeted: "Special treat for #TeamGMFRS and all our friends on our annual movie. We present - 2016! Enjoy."
