ELBOW are the latest band to announce dates to perform at Forest Live – a summer concert series where acts perform in spectacular woodland settings around the country.

The band, who originate from Ramsbottom and played their first gig together at the Corner Pin pub, have become one of the most important groups in contemporary British music in recent times.

Since their debut album Asleep At The Back in 2001, their stature has grown with subsequent releases such as Leaders Of The Free World, Build A Rocket Boys and 2014s The Take Off And Landing Of Everything that debuted at the top of the UK charts.

Front man Guy Garvey’s story-telling lyrics have honed their unique identity and sound to establish a passionate fan base for the band and critical acclaim on their musical journey including two Ivor Novellos and a BRIT award for Best British Band.

Forest Live is an independent programme organised by the Forestry Commission to bring forests to new audiences and will host events from June 15 to July 7 this summer.

Income generated from ticket sales will be spent on protecting, improving and expanding England’s forests and woodlands and increasing their value to people and wildlife.

Over Forest Live’s 16 year history, the gigs are renowned for their relaxed atmosphere and over 1.5 million people have so far attended.

Tickets are out now and cost £41.50, plus £4.65 booking fee from the Forestry Commission box office.
