A GANG of masked men smashed their way into a cycling shop before riding away on bikes worth around £5,000.
The group of six thieves used a sledgehammer to break into King Kog Cycles in Bury New Road, Prestwich, and steal five bikes.
The raid was caught on the store’s CCTV system which captured the masked men use a crowbar to force the security shutters up, before one of the offenders smashes their way through the glass door.
Five of the men then stole the expensive mountain bikes, while another held open the metal shutter as they rode away.
The gang left behind the sledgehammer they used after making off with the bikes worth an estimated £5,000.
The break-in happened at around 11pm on Saturday, March 25.
A GMP spokesman confirmed the break-in and said: “We received reports of a break-in at a shop in Bury New Road, at 11.05pm.
“Offenders forced entry before stealing a number of items.
“Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting incident number 2709 of March 25.”
