CCTV images of two men have been released in connection with a shooting in Unsworth, Bury.

Police want to speak with the two men in relation to a firearms discharge in Harris Drive shortly before 8.50am on June 18.

A man in his 30s took himself to hospital and suffered serious injuries to his upper body as a result of the incident. He has since been discharged.

Detectives are treating the shooting as a targeted attack and their investigations are ongoing.

They have urged anyone who recognised the men in the CCTV images to come forward.

Chief Insp Phil Spurgeon, of Greater Manchester Police's Bury division, said: “We are following several lines of enquiry to establish exactly what happened including trying to identify these men.

"If anyone recognises the men in these photos, or anyone who has any information no matter how small or insignificant it might seem, please get in touch with police immediately.

"From the information we have at the moment, we are treating this as a targeted attack and do not believe there to be any wider threat to the community but I cannot stress the importance of people contacting us if they know something.”
