PUPILS at Radcliffe Primary School received a visit from the Mayor of Bury in advance of their trip to the Houses of Parliament next week.
In a Q&A session on Monday, children asked Cllr Jane Black what inspired her to become the Mayor, what they would need to do to become a Mayor, and what she most enjoys about her job, as well as the more challenging question of why Radcliffe doesn’t have a high school.
One of the pupils said: "The Mayor told us lots of interesting facts about her job. I really enjoyed the morning because I never really knew much about the Mayor before and I do now."
The visit preceded a school trip to the Houses of Parliament on Wednesday, during which they will be given a tour.
It also coincides with their current topics about politics, government, and British values.
