A Bolton boxer has found a huge sponsor to help his career flourish.

Abdul Khan, the cousin of Bolton’s boxing great Amir Khan, has been sponsored by Re-Rates in Bury, who will now cover the costs of Abdul’s boxing career.

The young Khan was only just coming down off the high of winning his fight on Amir’s undercard at the Manchester AO arena on February 19 before he was thrown into another, which he also won.

With a 4-0 winning record, Abdul needs travel arrangement, fight kit and training to continue staying his best.

The sponsorship will help the 19-year-old with his boxing lifestyle and is a welcome partnership from a community company led by Jack Abadi.

Abdul said: “It’s perfect for me as I am full time boxing, it’s great to get support from local businesses.

“He’s an amazing guy to work with, he’s passionate guy and loves his boxing and he’s very supportive and professional with a good team around him.”

Abdul is already being tipped to be the next King Khan by his growing number of fans.

Jack Abadi of Re-Rates said: “There are many reasons why I have decided to sponsor Abdul Khan but one of the main ones is that I am a big believer in helping people achieve their full potential.

“I have always been a boxing fan and sponsoring Abdul is my way of helping and show my support to my local community and showing that anyone can achieve what they set their mind to as long as they have their home community to support them.”

The money will help Abdul with his training and improvements as he embarks on the next stage of his boxing career.

Leader of youth group, Be The Change, Daniel Sukula said: “It was a pleasure for our project to be able to help Abdul secure an ongoing sponsorship deal with our patron Jack Abadi CEO of Re-rates UK, business rates saving company.

“Jack Abadi recently purchased a minibus and new football kit for the team which has massively changed things for the organisation.

“I’ve known both Jack and Abdul for several years when I mentioned to Jack about Abdul and how dedicated he is to the sport, so straight away he wanted me to arrange a meeting with Abdul to see how best he can support him.

“During the meeting Jack was happy to support Abdul’s career and this sponsorship will help Abdul to go even further in his career and hopefully become a world champ one day.”
