Bury's Vue cinema has ran out of tickets for people to watch Queen Elizabeth II's funeral on Monday.

The cinema has cancelled all of its regular showings for Monday, September 19, and instead will just be screening the late monarch's funeral for free from 10am.

But the town centre venue is now booked out for people to watch the historic service on the big screen.

A cinema spokesperson said: “We will be screening the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, in selected UK venues on Monday, September 19, live from 10am.

“Seats will be free of charge and our retail offering on this day will be limited to complimentary bottled water during the broadcast, with no other snacks or drinks available for purchase.

“On this day we will not be showing our normal programme of films and instead are screening the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II."

The showing is expected to last five hours and Vue cinemas in Bury, Bolton, Manchester, Salford Quays and Altrincham have now run out of tickets.

Cinema chains such as Cineworld, Odeon, and Showcase will be closing their doors on Monday.
