The candidates for the council local elections next month have been named.

One third of the 51 council seats will be contested at the elections on Thursday, May 4, one in each of the 17 wards in the borough.

The local authority is reminding people to bring photographic ID to be able to vote at the polling station on election day.

Residents have until Monday, April 17 to make sure they are on the electoral register and therefore entitled to vote.
