Police officers seized a car in Whitefield last night after spotting a provisional licence holder driving with no insurance.

A woman and her partner have been summoned to court and had their vehicle seized after officers allegedly saw someone ‘learning to drive’ with no insurance.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) officers reported that the ‘driver’ of the car has been summoned to court as they had no licence and no insurance.

The driver's partner has also been summoned to court for permitting someone to drive without insurance.

A GMP spokesperson said: “Twin room booking at court?

“Yes, when our @GMPSpecials come across a provisional licence holder 'learning to drive' with her partner.

“Vehicle seized & both summoned to court.
