A popular Bury sports lounge and bar,  will be serving food for the first time to customers today after finding the ‘perfect chef for the job’.

Martinis on the Rock, known for its pool, snooker darts and sports focus, has released its new menu and will begin serving food this week.

Owner, Ian Martin, fulfilled his childhood dream when opening Martinis in 2022 and said that serving food had always been part of the concept but ‘it has taken longer than planned to get the ball rolling’.

Bury Times:

He said: “Finally, we have found the perfect man for the job, in Rick Mcclung, formerly of the Hatch in Walshaw.

“We are ready to serve up the food we have always wanted and it is very much in keeping with the sports lounge theme.

“Having a lot of restaurant experience, I am very much looking forward to running this side of our business, and finally offering our customers top notch food.

“I hope they enjoy it as much as we did when we did the taster!”

Food service will start on Wednesday, November 15, and will be served from 12pm to 9pm from Tuesday to Sunday, then seven days a week from December.

The new menu includes a range of burgers, loaded fries, chicken wings and salads and the bar and games rooms will remain open as usual.

Bury Times:

When setting up the venue to open for the first time in March 2022, Ian told the Bury Times: “Since the closure of Bury Snooker Club on Bolton Street several years ago, there has been nowhere in the town where snooker players can go to enjoy the game in a convivial environment.

“Martini’s On The Rock corrects that deficiency with a venue that can be appreciated, not just by snooker and pool enthusiasts, but by anyone who wants a stylish place to meet up and socialise.”

Martinis on the Rock is situated on top of Frankie and Bennies and across from West Ivy.
