People will have the chance to learn to dance with Bury-born Strictly Come Dancing star Layton Williams and his professional partner Nikita Kuzmin in the new year.

Bad Education actor Layton, 29, who grew up on the Dickie Bird estate, finished third on the BBC show after making it the final last weekend.

He faced criticism from some viewers who thought his previous dance experience gave him an unfair advantage compared to other contestants.

But his impressive dancing displays earned him high scores from judges throughout the series.

Former Coronation Street star Ellie Leach, 22, also from Bury, took home the glitterball trophy alongside her professional dance partner Vito Coppola.

Following the end of Strictly, Layton has announced people can sign up to book workshops titled "Pros From The Shows" in which industry professionals team up to offer bespoke performing workshops for all ages and abilities.
