On Monday, January 8, officers seized a car, a large amount of cash and a couple of pairs of high-value trainers, jackets, and other luxury items that they believed were proceeds of criminal activity.

A Greater Manchester Police (GMP) spokesperson said: “These items included Moose Knuckle and Canada Goose parka jackets, Bugatti jackets and other clothing.

“Christian Louboutin and Dior trainers as well as Rolex watches, aftershaves, and electronic equipment.

“When it comes to proceeds of crime, cash and vehicles can obviously be seized, but anything can be seized if it is believed to be proceeds of crime or criminal conduct.

“And if the officers haven’t heard of the make, because we can’t afford to shop in the same places, we still have Google to clarify the cost of things."

The suspect has since been released under investigation.

The GMP spokesperson added: “To pre-empt the question, yes we left a pair of Crocs.”

Money retained by police from the disposal of the goods under proceeds of crime cases go towards community projects under the Asset Recovery Incentivisation Scheme.
