CHURCHES will unite for the annual Walk of Witness on Good Friday.
Taking part in the event, which starts at noon, will be Bury’s mayor and mayoress, clergy and lay people from various denominations plus a number of councillors.
More than 100 people are expected to gather at St Marie’s Roman Catholic Church and from there follow a route taking in the Unitarian, Anglican and United Reformed churches plus Kay Gardens and the Lions Garden in Crompton Street.
At each venue, there will be a reading, a prayer and a hymn. All Christians are invited to join in, to help remind the people of Bury of the religious significance of Good Friday and Easter.
