PRINCESS Anne provided the royal seal of approval when she officially opened a new carers’ centre yesterday.
The Princess Royal spent almost an hour talking to carers and finding out about the work done at the centre, in Silver Street, Bury, which provides support for carers from across the area.
She was accompanied by Warren J Smith, the Lord Lieutenant of Greater Manchester.
Her visit celebrated the centre’s affiliation with the Princess Royal Trust for Carers, which has a network of 144 carers centres across the UK.
As she unveiled a plaque at the centre, Princess Anne said: “It is a marvellous opportunity for me to come and see just how much support is being given by the Princess Royal Trust for Carers network.
“For a centre here in Bury to be established and be helping hundreds of carers is no mean achievement.”
