WHEN Louise Tarver got a telephone call to tell her she was through to the final of a beauty competition —she was more than a little surprised.

The 27-year-old, from Walmersley, was unaware boyfriend Terence Hastie had sent off her details and she beat nearly 14,000 other girls to make it to the final 100 of FHM magazine’s Holiday Honeys competition.

Louise, who hopes to pursue a career in acting, studied at the Carol Godby Theatre School and at The Met’s theatre workshop in Bury when she was younger.

She said: “I was more interested in acting but there is a big crossover between acting and modelling.

“I can’t believe I’ve got this far. I would never have had the confidence to enter myself.”

If she wins, Louise will receive £10,000 and a job as a presenter on the digital station Kiss TV.

To make it through to the final 10, she needs members of the public to vote for her via the website fhm.com/honeys. Voting is open until April 22.

The top 10 will be announced in the July issue of the magazine, which goes on sale on June 3.

“I can’t imagine winning — even getting into the top 10 would be an achievement,” she said.

She made an appearance at Bury FC’s game on Tuesday night against Crewe in a bid to attract votes.

Another Bury lass, Charmaine Foster, is also through to the final 100.
