The family of a man who died after a road traffic collision in Prestwich, have paid tribute.

Shaun David Woodward, aged 22, from Prestwich died in hospital on Wednesday April 7.

Police were called to the junction of Heywood Road and Chatsworth Avenue, following a report of a collision between a car and an off-road motorcycle at about 6.10pm on Sunday March 14.

Officers attended and found the rider of the motorbike had a serious head injury.

Shaun was taken to hospital where he remained until he died from his injury.

The family of Shaun paid the following tributes: "He was born in Bury and lived around the Whitefield/ Prestwich area his whole life.

"After leaving Phillips High School, he did a joinery apprenticeship and secured work as a joiner for a local firm.

"Shaun was a fun loving and very caring lad, who was well liked by all who knew and met him. He could always be relied upon.

"He was a failed golfer but keen pool player.

"Shaun had a stepsister Lisa who spent many hours with him and will miss the fun time they shared."

Shaun's mother Carol said: "He meant the world to me, you can't put into words what Shaun meant to the family, he meant all we can say, yet so much more."

Shaun's sister Sarah said: "He was a very caring brother who was always there for me when I needed him."

Shaun's stepfather, John, said: "He was the son I never had."

Shaun's grandmother, Janet, said: "If I ever needed a job doing, I only had to ask and he would always be there for me.

"He was the kind of guy that would give you his last Rolo.

"He will be missed greatly by all the family."
